AWS announced 1,500 service improvements in 2021 

In 2021, so far, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has made over 1,500 announcements for new products, service improvements and global expansion. With AWS re:Invent just around the corner, it’s time to re-review your current AWS workloads and ensure you’re taking advantage of the most advanced innovation and product development available from AWS, keeping technical debt at bay. Ask yourself the question: “Are we still Well-Architected?”

For more complex compute environments, customers are adopting new developments to host and manage containerised workloads. AWS now supports running containers within Lambda functions and has simplified container management through Amazon Elastic Container Service with Fargate.

The Well-Architected Framework is AWS’ benchmarking tool to evaluate existing workloads against best practices for building secure, high-performing, resilient, and efficient infrastructure. AWS recommends that a Well-Architected Framework Review be performed at least once per year or after any major change in your AWS hosted workloads.
